Artist Notes

I’m passionate about medical illustration not only because I find the life sciences aesthetically beautiful, but also because of the important function it serves. I am exactly where I want to be, at the place where art, life science, and education meet.

My main focus in the past has been representational medical illustration depicting procedures or physiological processes. In my current role I also produce cellular and molecular illustrations as well as biomedical graphics.

I am privileged to see and hear some of the most fascinating proposals and new innovations. I find it very enriching to constantly come across such cool science.

Medical Illustration has a great variety of applications, and it overlaps with so many other things: Public health, animation, academia, pharmaceutical advertising, legal cases, 3d animation and 3d printing, even medical comics. My goal is to advance as an artist and for Medical Illustration to advance as a field.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts and look at my work. If you are considering a career in Medical Illustration I hope these words encourage you, and I wish you the best of luck. If you have any inquiries or thoughts on our field (or art in general), feel free to send an email, and I will respond as soon as time permits.
